What changes the price
Hours. A quince usually runs longer than people plan for once the entrance, the court, the vals, dinner, the surprise dance and open dancing are on the timeline. Compare packages by hours first. A four-hour package plus two extra hours can cost more than a longer package.
Bilingual MC. If grandparents and family follow the night in Spanish, ask who is on the mic and whether it is included. Urban Opulence says every quince package includes a bilingual DJ and MC. DJ Moreno says it hosts in English and Spanish.
Lighting and effects. This is where packages separate. Urban Opulence lists dancing on the clouds from $300, cold sparks from $400, uplighting from $400 and lasers from $250 as add-ons. Austin's Best DJs lists cold spark fountains from $695 and dancing on a cloud from $495. Ask your venue which effects it allows before you pay for them.
Travel. Urban Opulence says travel is free within 30 miles of Lockhart. Halls outside a company's area may add a fee, so ask.
Questions to ask before you compare quotes
- How many hours are included, and what does each extra hour cost?
- Who MCs the night, and in which language or languages?
- Have you run the traditions we are planning, like the entrance with the court, the vals, the shoe change and the surprise dance, and how do you time them?
- Which lighting and effects are in the package, and which are add-ons?
- Is there a travel fee to our hall?
- What deposit holds the date, and what are the cancellation terms?
Put every quote on the same basis (same hours, same MC, same lighting) before you compare. A quote that looks cheap often leaves out the lighting or the extra hour you will end up needing.
Where I fit
I quote each date individually rather than publishing a package price. If a fully bilingual MC is a must for your family, one of the companies above may be the right call, and I would rather you book the right fit.
