The short version
Compare San Antonio DJ quotes on the same hours, ceremony audio and lighting, and ask about peak-date pricing and travel before you sign.
Short answer: among San Antonio wedding DJ companies that publish their prices, a four-hour DJ and MC package starts at $995 to $1,000, and upper packages with longer coverage, uplighting and effects run from about $1,795 to $2,999. Date, hours, ceremony audio, lighting and travel are what move the number. Every price below comes from the company's own page, checked October 29, 2026.

These are starting prices, not quotes. Your final number depends on the date, the venue and what you add.
What changes the price
Hours. The biggest driver. A four-hour reception package and a full-day package from the same company can differ by $1,000 or more. Toast lists extended DJ time at $250 an hour.
Ceremony audio. Some companies include it and some sell it separately. Toast says every San Antonio DJ booking includes ceremony audio. Urban Opulence sells a ceremony-only package from $800, and its full-day packages include the ceremony.
The date. Toast adds $100 on select Saturdays in March, April, May, September, November and December, and $200 in October. If your date is flexible, ask every company whether it has peak pricing.
Lighting and effects. Uplighting is where packages separate. Toast includes 10 LED uplights from its Platinum tier and sells a set of 10 for $395 as an add-on. Cold sparks, monogram projection and similar effects are priced one by one, and venues decide whether some of them are allowed.
Bilingual MC. Urban Opulence includes bilingual MC in its Signature package. Toast lists it as a $500 add-on.
Travel. Toast says travel within 30 miles of downtown San Antonio is free, which covers Boerne, New Braunfels, Stone Oak, Schertz and Helotes. Venues farther out, and DJs coming from Austin or Houston, may add a travel fee, so ask.
How deposits usually work
Expect a deposit to hold the date and the balance before the wedding. Toast, for example, takes a 25% booking fee and wants the balance one week before the event. Ask every DJ for the deposit amount, the due date for the balance and the cancellation terms in writing.
Questions to ask before you compare quotes
- How many hours are included, and what does each extra hour cost?
- Is ceremony audio included, and is it a separate sound system?
- Which lighting is in the package and which is an add-on?
- Is there peak-date pricing for my date?
- Is there a travel fee to my venue?
- Who exactly will DJ my wedding, and can I meet them first?
Put every quote on the same basis (same hours, same ceremony setup, same lighting) before you compare. A quote that looks cheap often leaves out the ceremony or the lighting.
Where I fit
I am based in Austin, and I quote each date individually rather than publishing a package price. If you want a reliable reception DJ at the best value, one of the San Antonio companies above may be the right call, and I would rather you book the right fit.
