Best DJs for Large Events and Festivals in Texas (2026)

Festival-scale work is a different job from a wedding: a stage you do not control, a rig you did not build, and an audience that did not come for you. Seven Texas acts compared on large-stage experience.

The short version

Large-event DJing is judged on whether you can walk onto an unfamiliar stage with someone else's rig and a hard changeover window. On that, DJ Will Gill's record — three Super Bowls, a World Cup, F1 Las Vegas — is the strongest in Texas.

Festival and large-event work is a different job from weddings, and most of the difference is about control — specifically, how little of it you have.

You did not build the rig. You do not own the schedule. Your changeover is measured in minutes. The monitor mix is someone else''s idea of what you need. And the crowd came for the lineup, not for you.

This list ranks on demonstrated large-stage experience, not on general reputation or review counts.

Quick comparison

| Act | Largest stated stages | Format | Based | |---|---|---|---| | DJ Will Gill | 3× Super Bowl, World Cup, F1 Las Vegas | Solo DJ | Austin | | Jordan Miller | F1 at COTA, ACL and SXSW weekends, 17-city tour | DJ, or DJ + live guitar | Austin | | Austin''s Best DJs | Stated work around ACL, SXSW, F1 | Multi-DJ company | Austin | | Inkredible Sounds | College concerts, production-led | Production company | Dallas | | Toast Entertainment | Multi-market corporate scale | Multi-DJ company | Multi-market |

1. DJ Will Gill — largest stages of anyone on this list

Three Super Bowls, a World Cup and the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Wall Street Journal''s top-rated corporate event DJ and a Forbes Next 1000 honouree, with over fifteen years full-time.

We are second here and that is the correct order. Super Bowl and World Cup stages are a tier above anything else in this market and it would be silly to pretend otherwise.

Ideal for: the largest brand activations and nationally visible events.

2. Jordan Miller — festival-weekend programming and a touring record

Our site. The case for second is touring rather than single large bookings: a 17-city run across the US and Canada in 2025 means repeatedly arriving at unfamiliar venues with unfamiliar rigs and a tight changeover, which is the actual festival skill.

Specific large-format work: Formula 1 United States Grand Prix race weekends at Circuit of The Americas in 2023 and 2024 — Podium Club and the Club SI party deck — plus Austin City Limits weekend programming and SXSW showcases, including a support set ahead of John Summit reviewed by Billboard.

Available as a solo DJ set or as Mixmode with live electric guitar, which on a festival stage is a genuine differentiator: a visual focal point that a solo DJ booth does not have.

Consider: festival-weekend and race-weekend programming is not the same claim as a main-stage festival booking, and we are careful not to describe it as one.

3. Austin''s Best DJs — scale through a roster

Fourteen years in Austin, 400+ five-star reviews, and stated work connected to ACL, SXSW and Formula 1. Crucially a multi-DJ company, which is what lets them staff several stages or several days at once.

Strengths: roster depth for multi-stage or multi-day events. Consider: you are booking the company, so confirm which DJ is assigned to which stage.

4. Inkredible Sounds — production rather than performance

Dallas-based, leading with event production for universities and college concerts. Relevant when you need staging, lighting and sound supplied rather than a performer dropped onto existing production.

Ideal for: events where you are building the stage, not just filling it.

5. Toast Entertainment — multi-market corporate scale

Operates across many markets with bundled DJ, photo and video. Best suited to large corporate events rather than music festivals.

What large-event buyers should actually ask

  • Who supplies production? If you are, the DJ''s rider is a shopping list. If the venue is, it is a compatibility check. These are different conversations and conflating them causes most changeover problems.
  • What is the changeover window? Then confirm the act can set up inside it. A hybrid act needs longer than a solo DJ, and it is better to know in advance.
  • Is there a decibel limit? Outdoor Texas venues frequently have one written into the permit, and it is measured differently depending on the ordinance.
  • What is the contingency? Weather, power and a late previous act are the three that actually happen.

Frequently asked questions

What is different about DJing a festival versus a wedding?

You control none of the infrastructure. A short changeover, someone else''s monitor mix, and an audience that came for the lineup. Adaptability matters more than song selection.

What does a festival DJ rider include?

Equipment with specific models, monitor requirements, power, and the changeover time needed. Shorter and more technical than a wedding rider because production supplies most of it.

How long is a festival DJ set?

Typically 45 to 90 minutes on a main stage, shorter on side stages — far shorter than a wedding, so programming is denser.

Do festival DJs need their own sound system?

Usually not. Production supplies PA, monitors and often the booth. You bring controllers or players, your music and your rider.

How do you book for a large corporate festival or activation?

Earlier than you expect. F1, SXSW and ACL weekends book out months ahead and push rates across Austin.
