History
Country EDM: artist and genre timeline
Country EDM did not appear at once. It came out of a decade of records that put roots songwriting inside electronic production, followed by DJs who started working current country singles into peak-time sets and had to solve the tempo gap between a 96 BPM country record and a 128 BPM drop. This timeline lists the publicly documented milestones, and where Jordan Miller's own touring fits.

Folk instrumentation meets house production
Avicii's album True paired folk and country-leaning instrumentation with house production, and the single 'Wake Me Up' became a mainstream hit. It demonstrated to a dance audience that acoustic, roots-facing songwriting could carry a four-on-the-floor record.

Country and trap collide in the charts
Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' fused country signifiers with trap production and dominated the mainstream charts, forcing a public argument about genre boundaries that the crossover space has been operating inside ever since.

A dance producer makes a country album
Diplo released Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley, Chapter 1: Snake Oil, an explicitly country-facing project from a dance producer, and began performing country-leaning sets under the Thomas Wesley name. It gave the crossover a touring identity rather than just a playlist.
- 2021 - 2023Genre
Country records enter club and festival sets
Open-format DJs increasingly worked current country singles into peak-time sets, and unofficial country edits and bootlegs circulated widely among touring DJs. The practical problem shifted from whether country records belonged in a dance set to how to bridge the tempo gap between them.

Country EDM as a programmed format
Country crossover has moved from a novelty slot to a recurring programming decision: buyers now request the format by name, and hybrid acts pairing DJ playback with live instrumentation are advanced like bands rather than like DJs.
